Sintered Metal Powder Porous Materials via Molding Sintered metal powder porous materials via molding uses metal powder as the raw materials and are first manufactured through the molding process of metal powder. The raw materials are formed into various shapes such as plates, discs, tubes, bushings, caps and cones, before being sent for sintering in hydrogen or vacuum furnaces. The resulting porous materials possess high strength, high filtration ratio and good permeability.
AT&M/CISRI began the development of sintered metal powder porous materials since 1960's. Various materials such as stainless steel, bronze, super alloys, FeAl alloy, and titanium are used for the manufacture of these porous products. These products have been widely used for gas/liquid filtration, fluidization, powder conveying, noise attenuation and flame arresting in many industrial fields.
